Gift Card Stockings
The perfect size for a gift card in its envelope!
Size K hook; 2 oz. worsted weight yarn or cotton
(to be worked holding 2 strands throughout) OR 2
oz. double worsted weight cotton.
Note: Odd rows are wrong side; even rows are
right side.
Ch 28. Sc in 3rd ch from hook (turning ch in each
row counts as first stitch in row). Sc in each of next
25 stitches.
27 stitches in row.
Rows 2 - 6: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch to end. 27 stitches in each row.
Row 7: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of next 21 stitches. 22 stitches in row.
Row 8: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of next 16 stitches. 17 stitches in row.
Rows 9 - 11: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of next 16 stitches. 17 stitches in each row.
Row 12: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each of next 8 stitches. Ch 12, join with sl st to first ch in ch 12.
Continue row with a sc in each of next 8 stitches. 17 stitches in row.
Row 13: Ch 2, turn. 3 dc popcorn stitch in next stitch. Dc in next stitch. Alternate popcorn
stitches and dc's to end of row, keeping the ch 12 loop toward you (as this is the wrong side
of the piece). Fasten off, leaving a 3-foot tail.
Finishing: Fold stocking in half so right sides are together. Using the 3-foot tail of yarn, whip
stitch the halves together along the front and bottom of the stocking. Fasten off, weave in
ends and turn right side out.
