Five Round Crown

Size "I" hook, worsted weight yarn.

Round 1:  Use a single strand
magic loop, or ch 5 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.  Ch 2 (beginning ch counts as first stitch in round for this and all other rounds in the crown).  11 dc in loop/ring.  If using a magic loop, tighten loop and weave in end.  Join w/sl st to top of ch 2.  12 stitches in round.

Round 2:  Ch 2, turn.  Dc in same st as turning ch.  2 dc in each of next 11 dc.  Join w/sl st to top of ch 2.  24 stitches in round.

Round 3:  Ch 2, turn.  2 dc in next dc.  *Dc in next dc.  2 dc in next dc.*  Repeat between * to end.  Join w/sl st to top of ch 2.  36 stitches in round.

Round 4:  Ch 2, turn.  Dc in next dc.  2 dc in next dc.  *Dc in next dc.  Dc in next dc.  2 dc in next dc.*  Repeat between * to end.  Join w/sl st to top of ch 2.  48 stitches in round.

Round 5:  Ch 2, turn.  Dc in next dc.  Dc in next dc.  2 dc in next dc.  *Dc in next dc.  Dc in next dc.  Dc in next dc.  2 dc in next dc.*  Repeat between * to end.  Join w/sl st to top of ch 2.  60 stitches in round.

(Crown should measure approximately 6-1/2 inches across.)  Continue with the pattern of your choice.
