| Basketweave Hat Hat: Uses a size "I" hook and 4 oz worsted weight yarn. Make a Five-Round Crown and then continue as follows: Round 6: Ch 2, turn. *Fpdc around next 2 dc. Bpdc around next 2 dc.* Repeat between * to end. Join w/sl st to top of ch 2 (61 st in round, including turning ch which is not used in the basketweave pattern). Round 7: Repeat Round 6. Round 8: Ch 2, turn. *Bpdc around next 2 dc. Fpdc around next 2 dc.* Repeat between * to end. Join w/sl st to top of ch 2. Round 9: Repeat Round 8. Rounds 10 through 23: Continue in pattern, alternating 2 rounds of Round 6 with 2 rounds of Round 8. Hat should measure approximately 9-1/4" from top of crown to bottom, when measured lying flat. Round 24: Ch 2, turn. Hdc in each stitch all the way around. Join w/sl st to top of ch 2. Fasten off, weave in end, turn up brim. |
