| Size K Hook 3-1/2 oz. Peaches & Creme Double Worsted Weight Cotton Back Piece, Row 1: Ch 23, very loosely. Sc in 6th ch from hook (this forms loop to hang potholder from if desired). Ch 1, skip 1 ch. Sc in next 14 ch. Ch 1, skip 1 ch. Sc in last ch. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Turning ch serves as first sc in each row. Sc in ch sp. Sc in next 14 stitches. Sc in ch sp. Sc in last st. |
| Rows 3 - 17: 18 sc in each row (includes turning ch). Row 18: Ch 2, turn. Sc in 5th st from hook. Sc in next 13 st. Ch 1, skip 1 st. Sc in last st. Fasten off. Front Piece and Joining With Edging, Row 1: Ch 20, very loosely. Sc in 5h ch from hook. Sc in next 13 ch. Ch 1, skip 1 ch. Sc in last ch. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Turning ch serves as first sc in each row. Sc in ch sp. Sc in next 14 stitches. Sc in ch sp. Sc in last st. Rows 3 - 17: Ch 1, turn. Turning ch serves as first sc in each row. Sc in next 17 stitches. 18 sc in each row. |
| Row 18: Ch 2, turn. Sc in 5th st from hook. Sc in next 13 st. Ch 1, skip 1 st. Sc in last st. Ch 2. Working with 18th row of Front Piece still facing you, hold Back Piece behind Front Piece in identical orientation. Working through both pieces, 2 hdc in "hole" created by ch sp at ends of Rows 18. Hdc in each row end (joining together both pieces) all the way down to the next corner (should be 16 hdc). 5 hdc in ch sp "hole" at this corner. Hdc in each row end across bottoms of pieces (should be 14 hdc). 5 hdc in ch sp "hole" at this corner, ensuring that loop remains on outside. Hdc back up to next corner (should be 16 hdc). 5 hdc in ch sp "hole" at this corner. Hdc in each row end across tops of pieces (should be 14 hdc). 2 hdc in "hole" where edging was started. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. Fasten off. |
